Letter to Norman Lamb

The following letter was sent to Norman Lamb MP on 28 November 2005 - we will post the response when we receive one

Dear Mr Lamb

Re: Tesco Store

As you may remember I did write to you some time ago supporting the Tesco store in Sheringham and you did reply stating that even though I had made a good argument you felt that you would be against this happening. Since that time I have attended all the planning meetings and I must admit I was appalled at the attitude of some of the councillors. I felt that this was a private war against Tesco for what ever reason. The councillors did not take the community they serve into account and I am sure that more could have been done to take the views of the town people.

We have now set up a group to fight to get a Tesco store in the town. Since forming this group we have been inundated with letters of support. These letters are coming in from people that live in the town and also from the villages. We have even had people ringing up saying that they joined Scamrod paid 50p subscription in order to stop Budgens building on the car park, now they feel let down and have offered their support to our new group. I am sure that you must have gauged the feeling at the meeting regarding Tesco and I believe that the whole issue should be looked at again and a proper consensus of opinion in the town should be made.

Yours sincerely

Pam Blyth (on behalf on Protesc)
