Public Display at Community Centre

Tesco laid on a display at the Community Centre to allow the public to view their plans and ask questions.  Several of the townsfolk turned up to see what is being offered and to put forward their own ideas for improvements.

Outside protesters gathered and at times tried to disrupt the display. But despite loud shouting when a Pro-Tesco supporter was being interviewed by the TV camera and bringing placards into the Community Centre and shouting loudly, the exhibition did go ahead.  Many people, both for and against Tesco building in Sheringham were able to look at what is being offered and offer criticism and praise for the plans.

A survey on the North Norfolk Radio web site soon after this event posed the question:

An exhibition showing plans for the Sheringham Tesco took place over the weekend.   How do you feel about the store being built now?

84% Yes - it should be built
16% No - leave Sheringham the way it is.
